ENJOY!

#13. Stamped Cork Board by from the Winthorpe Chronicles.
Any time you can take something and make it your own it’s sure to be a hit with the crowd.  I do think on this one if would be fun to offer different holiday stencils and multiple cork boards.  Than people can paint cork boards for every holiday and switch them out.  If you are looking for some cork boards you may want to check out our Organize It Collection, and of course we can custom cut cork for you.  Plus all of our Antiqued Subway Art Plaques vinyl can be ordered as a stencil

Guest Post - Creative Idea to Display Free Printables!

I love to make Subway art for each holiday, but my little cheap black frame from the dollar store for the subway art just wasn't cuttin' it any more. Not to mention it was falling apart and the prints were getting all bent up moving them in and out and storing them. I love a project that can be interchangeable, so I LOVE, LOVE this idea from Poppy Seed Projects! This plaque is made with one of the Christmas printables which is PERFECT for a Christmas in July project!

This would be a perfect Super Saturday project!

Guest Post - DIY Vision Board

My husband and I keep a Law of Attraction Vision Board in our bedroom. This is where we place the goals and items that we want to attract into our lives. Our current board was too small and it needed some updating. A few months back I attend the Snap Conference; one of our craft projects was staining a frame from Poppy Seed Projects, and I wanted to use this cool frame on my vision board.

Tutorial – How to Paint, Stain and Antique a Block Using Three Different Paint Colors.

HAPPY EASTER!!!
One of our most popular spring craft projects are these double sided Easter/Spring Blocks, {little side note, these babies are a perfect Super Saturday project because they are easy, but still allow for a lot creativity)  When I first posted them online I had lots of questions about how one goes about painting the blocks so many different colors.  This tutorial will cover just that, along with some other  basics.  For a tutorial on how to apply scrapbook paper click here.
First the supply list.
Supply List:
  • Medium grade sandpaper (I used about 150}
  • Several different coordinating paint colors.
  • Painter’s tape
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Squegee for applying vinyl
  • Stain (optional)
  • Terry cloth rag cut into fours.
Step 1: To get started it’s always a good idea to lightly sand down the blocks, just to smooth things up.  Don’t forget to wipe away the sawdust with a slightly damp rag before you start painting.  If you don’t you will end up with saw dust in your paint, which never really works out well.

Step 2: Paint the sides of the block. I like to paint the blocks three different colors.  The sides of the blocks get one color, the front and back of each block get their own colors.
Start by painting the sides.  Keep in mind that you are painting mdf.  Mdf is like a sponge when it comes to paint. it will soak it up like a cool drink of water.  Be smarter than the block though and don’t let it trick you into globbing on the paint.  {Additional painting tips below}

Guest Post - Young Women Craft Idea, Etching Glass Tutorial

Hey! This is Markell from A Mouse In My Kitchen. I am super excited for this opportunity I have to guest post for Poppy Seed Projects. I have had an amazing time working with this company and I am a really excited about the tutorial I am going to show you today.

So, today I am going to teach you how to use the new Daughter of God vinyl {available in 12" and 5" squares} from Poppy Seed Project’s store to etch a mirror. I think my sister showed me how to do this a few years ago. We originally used it to etch names onto casserole dishes. I decided to try it on a mirror and ended up loving the way it looked. We did this a little while ago with the young women group in my ward and it was a HUGE hit.

Funny story. My husband is the one who actually did the “craft” part of this project. I had to be out of town when the vinyl got to my house, so he agreed to do it for me. What a good husband, huh? He went a little crazy with the pictures though. It turns out that it is really hard to take a picture of a mirror without getting yourself in it, so he decided to not even try to hide himself. I hope you all enjoy that!

Guest Post - Pallet Wood Frame Tutorial

Guest Post-Pallet Wood Frame Tutorial

Hi there!!  My name is Lacy Horrocks and I am so excited to be a guest on Poppy Seed Projects today!!  I am joining you from Star Valley Wyoming and although the summers are beautiful here, the winters are LONG and COLD!  I choose to fill them with scrapbooking, crafting and laundry...lots of laundry!

I have a new obsession with "upcycling"... finding old things and making them beautiful! So you should not be surprised that I LOVE pallets and the many projects that can be made with them! I had been in love with these frames from The Savy Photographer for a while and when I saw the cute frames that Poppy Seed Projects had, I knew what I was going to do!

Shaped MDF frame Merry Christmas Project

Hi everyone, I'm Crystal! I'm a mom to three cuties, wife to an amazing husband, and blogger at

I'm so happy to be here today to share with you an easy Christmas project. I know, I know we're still away from Chistmas, but with how busy the holiday season gets it's great to have projects planned ahead. :)

Supplies: Eleanor Frame Martha Stewart Acrylic Paint (Jet Stream) Pine Cones Felt rick rack Vinyl

To make my new Christmas frame I began by applying three coats of paint. Once the final coat was dry I used my Silhouette to cut out Merry Christmas using vinyl. For the backing I glued on a piece of glittered cardstock. I glued the rick rack onto each pine cone then tied them together. I hot glued the knot directly onto the cardstock, leaving the pine cones to hang loose.

I

found the adhesive pearl embellishment in the scrapbooking aisle at Hobby Lobby and added pieces of it to both sides of the frame.

And that's it! It's a fairly simple Christmas frame but I love the way it came together. The best part is if I ever get tired of it I can remove the vinyl and change the center to create a new look.

Thank you for having me today. I hope you'll stop by sometime, I love making new friends! To see more of my holiday projects you can subscribe or follow me on:

Thank you Crystal for the cute project!  Simply and timeless, I love it.  What fun holiday projects do you have in store?

No guest post this week, sorry!  BUT instead I thought it would be fun to show some of my favorite post by various bloggers featuring Poppy Seed Projects.  Most of them are fantastic tutorials, or great decorating tips.

Eleanor Picture Plaque Tutorial by No. 29 Design

Hello.

My name is Christina and I have a blog called No. 29 Design where I share home design ideas, with a range of DIY projects as well as inspiration. I approach each project with the common house owner in mind. No fancy tools or large budget are needed to achieve the look you want for your home.

I'd like to thank Poppy Seed Projects for allowing me to share a project I recently did using the Eleanor plaque. I wanted to create a wall of family photos and fell in love with the shape of this plaque. Three kids, three frames and a summer full of photos to choose from and I had this…

I had pictures printed out as the portion I wanted to cut out was large enough to fit the wood plaque.

DIY Bird Family Board

Hi, my name is Mel. By day I work from home as the Coordinator of Community Relations for Collective Bias, and by night (and some very early mornings) I blog over at MamaBuzz. I also homeschool our two very rambunctious boys. Be sure to stop by for a dose of food, craft/DIY, travel, and more. You'll also find me on Twitter @mamabzz. When I first heard the name Poppy Seed Projects, I was attending the SNAP Conference in Utah; they offered a DIY session where we got to make our very own signs, and they taught us step-by-step how to do so. It was such a fun session.

In

trying to makeover our master bedroom, one step at a time, I’ve been on the lookout for the perfect decor, and the Bird Family Board makes a great addition to our decor. It comes with 5 birds, the birds signify our family, so I subtracted one.

Picture Love - By As Jule Is Going

Do you have trouble finding your "style" when it comes to decoration your home? I do. I thought I needed one of those titles that you find in fancy magazines selling styles like "Sleek and modern" or "Country Cottage". I would find a piece I thought was cute and thought therefor that was my "style" and had to create everything around that one thing. Finally, I gave up on that. I looked around and got rid of the random things I didn't really like.   I just thought were's my style! THEN I discovered I was a photo fanatic! Are you a photo fanatic? I am. Tried and true! I'm so glad my husband is a relational guy who also love pictures or my walls would be bare.
