Monday Madness – Beware Chalkboard Plaque, DIY Halloween Chalkboard Art.

We introduced our first Chalkboard Art Plaque clear back in April when we were getting ready for Snap.  We almost didn’t do them, chalk board art is so prevalent online and there is some seriously cute stuff.  I really just wasn’t sure if anyone would be interested in one more print.  Problem was I would lay in bed at night and all of these designs would float around in my head…keeping me up way too late, so I finally decided what the heck.  Now all these months later here we… almost nine chalkboard prints later.  It’s been fun to see the huge response. Turns out there a quite a few of us that like the look, but don’t have the ability to draw our own.  By offering our chalkboard art as an inexpensive project we’ve made it easy for people to copy the look without the hassle.  That along with the simplicity of the project has made it one of this years hottest Super Saturday projects.

Monday Madness – Introducing Our Happy Collection

Clear back in July I was shopping and I came across this cute little hello word. I’m sure you’ve seen it, a cursive chunky hello that only measure about 4” tall and 8-9 wide.  I’ve seen it a couple of places since.  Well that little “Hello” is what sparked the idea for this fun little collection, something we are calling our Happy Collection.

First there is the word Happy.  A chunky little wood piece that measures 3.5” tall, 1.5” thick and is 8” long.

Than there are the bases.  Once for each holiday.

Happy Collection

Are you getting the concept.  Paint one cute Happy word and than switch out the basis for each holiday.  Let me tell you I made one for my house and my kids LOVE it.  It’s funny how as they get older making crafts they enjoy means so much.

Monday Madness – Halloween Count Magnetic Board

Okay so I am sure that Halloween is probably one of the furthest thing from your mind, but I figured hey if Kmart can run Christmas ads than we can have a sale on a Halloween craft right?!  Besides you’ll need sometime to get this one ready for your kids.

This weeks Monday Madness deal is 40% off our new Halloween Count Down Magnetic Board.
Reg. priced at $19.95, sale price {$11.97}  Now isn’t that price worth the smiles on your kids faces!!  Spider magnet is not included (Kim made it by cutting the ring part off of a cheap plastic spider ring and hot gluing it to a button magnet- easy enough right?)

October Show and Tell

Show and Tell posts are always my favorite. This month I had TONS of pictures sent in.  LOVED THEM ALL!!   It is always rewarding to see people create something cute from one of our craft projects.  Here are a few of my favorite (emphasis on a few, there were too many to include them all)

Let's start off with some cute Halloween projects. Seriously could these ladies have used cuter paper for these Witch Layered Plaques?  Doesn’t get better than damask and polka dots. . .

Seriously the tree and birds on this paper could not be better accents for  the vinyl from the project.

Picture Love - By As Jule Is Going

Do you have trouble finding your "style" when it comes to decoration your home? I do. I thought I needed one of those titles that you find in fancy magazines selling styles like "Sleek and modern" or "Country Cottage". I would find a piece I thought was cute and thought therefor that was my "style" and had to create everything around that one thing. Finally, I gave up on that. I looked around and got rid of the random things I didn't really like.   I just thought were's my style! THEN I discovered I was a photo fanatic! Are you a photo fanatic? I am. Tried and true! I'm so glad my husband is a relational guy who also love pictures or my walls would be bare.

A Week's Worth of Peach Recipes

Over labor Day Weekend my MIL made the the most delicious miniature peach pies.  Those tiny little bites of heaven awoke a craving for peaches that followed me around all week!  So last Sat. in an effort to satisfy my need for peaches I went to a local famers market** and bought an ENTIRE box of peaches.

Now here’s the thing about a box of peaches, it isn’t that big of a deal if you are canning, but I really just don’t have the time or energy to can this year,  so instead we have had one terribly delicious week of non stop peach recipes.  I thought I would share a few of my favorites incase any one else has a few peaches lying around. {if you are planning on canning here is a very helpful tutorial from Brooke at The Crafting Chicks).
We started off the week with one of my best recipes.  Cream Cheese Peach Pie (doesn’t the name alone make you drool).  I made this recipe for my Mom and my Aunt with the came over Sun. for dinner.  My Mom told me it was one of the best things I have ever made.  Thanks Mom!

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 pint whipping cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, divided
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 9-inch baked pie shell
  • sliced peaches
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

  • Glaze:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup mashed peaches
  • 1 cup water
  • yellow food coloring
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
