Last Minute (again) FREE Halloween Printable / Halloween Decorating Ideas.

This is just a re post of one of the free printables that I designed that I actually still really like (some of them make me sick to my stomach to look at).  Hope you enjoy.

Last year I wrote:

Still adding some last minute touches for Halloween night?  Well you are not alone, to be honest with you I never really stop decorating for the Holidays until the day after.  I love adding last minute touches and looking for last minute deals.  I figure even if I only have it up for a couple of days this year, it’s going to be Halloween again next year. . . right?  Or maybe you need a last minute gift for I dunno. . .Visiting Teaching?  (They sale really great frames at the dollar store that can be spray painted in less than 10 min).

Regardless of what you use it for I hope you enjoy!  And don’t forget the sale on $3.00 5x7 mdf shaped frames ends Sunday at midnight.  For more details read this weeks Monday Morning Madness post.

Guest Post - Creative Idea to Display Free Printables!

I love to make Subway art for each holiday, but my little cheap black frame from the dollar store for the subway art just wasn't cuttin' it any more. Not to mention it was falling apart and the prints were getting all bent up moving them in and out and storing them. I love a project that can be interchangeable, so I LOVE, LOVE this idea from Poppy Seed Projects! This plaque is made with one of the Christmas printables which is PERFECT for a Christmas in July project!

This would be a perfect Super Saturday project!

Monday Madness – Chalk Board Plaques

Happy Memorial Day!
If you keep up with trends and read blogs then you’ve seen Chalkboard prints…they are everywhere.  I have to admit I am kind of infatuated with them.  I love the throw back to antique signs and marketing designs that are usually mixed in with newer fonts and elements.  Plus they are super fun to design.
We are excited to introduce a new project….a line of chalkboard prints.  The prints can be purchased on their own, or as a kit.  The kits include a plaque of wood to mount the print on, as well as step by step instructions.  When I made mine I added some Texturizing Cream to the top layer.

The best part about this project though is that we will also be offering the prints as free printables. The Spring Chalk Board printable is already online ready to go.  If you looking for fast (and still pretty dang affordable} the Spring Chalk Board plaque kit can also be purchase online for only $7.95.

Free Spring Chalk Board Art Printable

I love Spring!  Really who doesn’t?  But I think if you live in a snowy area like Ut. where the weather is at best chaotic you have a special appreciation for Spring.  When the tulips and grape hyacinthia’s start to bloom….
Spring Flowers

….my heart just feel lighter and I start to get in decorating mode.  Yes I said decorating mode.  Nothing inspires me to liven things up like Spring.  Last year I shared a popular post on Tips and Tricks for Decorating for Spring.  This year I’ve already shared the Top Five Spring Projects , but I thought I would also share a free Chalk Board Spring printable with you.  This is also one of the projects that we did during the craft class we taught at Snap this year.

Last of the Teacher Appreciation Freebies

Sorry these are a little late.  Saturday ended up being a sick day at our house {{The Hubby works on Sat. so a sick day for me means lying in bed watching cartoons with three kids crawling all over
me. . .super relaxing. . .super rejuvenating}}.
For those of you who like options. . .lucky you!  My oldest son has THREE different teachers to say thank you to this year. . .so here is the print I created for them in THREE different colors.  My plan it to find three cheap frames, paint them some funky colors and stick these prints in them, easy enough {{and that’s what we procrastinators need, EASY}}
I’ll post pictures when I have them done.
The pictures below were created as 5x7’s

Downloading Freebie Tutorial

There are a TON of awesome freebies out there.  But what happens if you are computer illiterate {{like my cute Mom}} and have no idea how to use all this free stuff.  Well here is a little tutorial to help you out.  This tutorial assumes that you don’t have any fancy software like photoshop and are working with just your basic word processor.

Step 1.) Click on link provided for the free download
Step 1 copy

Step 2.) Clicking on the link will navigate you to a website used for sharing files.  We like to use 4shared.com.
Underneath the picture of the download you will see a download button.
Click on it.
Step 2 copy

3.) At this point your computer will prompt you to save or save as.  Choose save as and navigate to the folder you would like to save the file under.
Step 3 copy

So far so good right?!!  The next couple of steps will be a little different depending on the word processor you use.  But the essentials should be the same.

4.)Once you have the processor open you want to find the PICTURE option.  Usually found under the edit or insert tab.  Once you have “PICTURE” highlighted a drop down menu should pop up.  Choose from file.
Step 4 copy

5.) Navigate to the correct folder.  Select the desired file and click open.  It may take a second but the picture will than appear in your word processor.
Step 5 copy

Once the file is open in your word processor (it may take minute so be patient) you can then manipulate the file to various sizes.
This is a GREAT process if you are wanting to print something off on your home computer (perfect for projects like the Happy Spring Visiting teaching tag, or the Mother/Sister word art).  This does obviously limit you though on the quality of your image and the size of the print.

Theme poster damask copy

As stated in the earlier post this poster was created an 11x14, but you can of course print it in a smaller (or even MUCH smaller version if needed).
We’ve already had such great feedback & have been sent so many great ideas.  We would LOVE to hear your plans and ideas for the poster!

Baptism Subway Art Frame

Tomorrow my oldest, is getting baptized. {{sniff, sniff}} I’m not even sure if I’m crying because he’s so big, or I’m so old.
Baptism Subway Art w Carson

I designed the matte to stick his cute picture in to be displayed at his baptism. I wish I would have thought of it sooner though because I also think it would make a cute invitation.
Here’s the blank version. The download is for an {8x10} & will also fit a {5x7} picture.
You could easily resize it though & enter text and/or a picture for an invitation.

Here is a girly version!

Here is another one using pink tones.
