Guest Post - How to Add a Ruffle Skirt to a Doll Bed

Hello! I'm happy to be back here at Poppy Seed Projects Blog! My name is Rachel and I blog at R & R Workshop.

My daughter just turned 2 and loves dolls. This doll bed from Poppy Seed is the perfect gift idea if you have a little girl at your house! You can't beat the price and it is so sturdy. I like that it can fit any size doll up to 18 inches. You can also be creative and decorate it anyway you want. I chose to keep the bed a simple white and add a little glitter to add a little fun :)

Guest Post - DIY Cute and Functional Organization System

Hi friends! My name is Erica and I get to co-host a little event called The Ruby Retreat: a weekend to get away, get pampered and do crafts galore! Swing on by our site and maybe even join us one day!   I’m a creative addict... sewing, painting, decorating, organizing- you name it! And I have a sad confession to make... I like new things. Scratch that- love new things. Crave new things! My home interior is no exception. Before our daughter was born I was a looks-over-function kind of gal, but now? Now I need something beautiful AND functional! And I think I’ve found it in this fun little project using some awesome Poppyseed products!!   I’ve dreamt of having a home organizational “hub” for months now, but all the hubs I’ve seen aren’t... me. I’m in the middle of redecorating several spaces and I saw this as a perfect opportunity to make my dream hub AND create a beautiful new, (functional!) use of space.

Here’s what I used:

Clipboard Pedestal with Poppy Seed Projects Eleanor plaque I Onekriegerchick.com

I was fortunate enough to meet Holly in a class at SNAP and received one of these darling Dry Erase Weekly Menu/Planner as part of my SWAG. It has been magnetized to the side of my fridge for months, but it is way too cute to be on the side of a fridge! Why not post a Weekly Menu on a fun clipboard pedestal!

Here's How I did it...

Guest Post: Hope Will Always Rise From the Ashes, Sperare Semper

Hope Always & Rise From the Ashes Sperare semper. It's Latin for "To hope always." And it's our family motto. During the last 7 years, my husband and I have been through the roller coaster of emotions that is known as infertility and adoption. The highest, most sacred of highs and the lowest of soul crushing lows. Somehow we have managed to hang onto hope. To hope always.

"To hope always." This hangs on the largest wall in my family room. One day I will commission @saltybison to make it glorious for me. I cannot wait to attack her at #snapconf's #qbm. #latin #mantra

For awhile I had "sperare semper" in crooked individual letters on my wall in our family room. Such a great reminder, but such an ugly one.

Guest Post - DIY Photo Frame Bookends

Hi, Poppy Seed Project fans! I'm Natalie and I blog at a Turtle's Life for Me where I share all the normal things that keep my family busy- baking, cooking, cake decorating, crafts, decorating and a whole lot of silliness! Summer is my favorite time for little makeovers on my kids' rooms, and it's an even better time to pick some projects that they can help out with! The project I'm going to share with you today covered both of those goals and was SO easy and fast! Aside from paint-drying time, I probably spent about 10-15 minutes total on this project! Go me!!

Guest Post - DIY Vision Board

My husband and I keep a Law of Attraction Vision Board in our bedroom. This is where we place the goals and items that we want to attract into our lives. Our current board was too small and it needed some updating. A few months back I attend the Snap Conference; one of our craft projects was staining a frame from Poppy Seed Projects, and I wanted to use this cool frame on my vision board.

Guest Post - American Girl Doll Bed and Bedding Tutorial

Doll-bedding-for-Poppy-Seed
I was so excited when I found out that Poppy Seed Projects was going to start making doll beds that fit American Girl Dolls. As a mother of 3 girls, (and 3 American Girl dolls), I knew that these were going to be a hit at my house!
For weeks my two oldest begged me to begin their beds. I put it off, cause if I'm honest, I have to gear up for sewing. Not that this project is super hard, but I have to get myself to a special mental place where I can be a nice mom, but still focus and concentrate. I'm not a mom that can sew with the girls hanging on me.
Once I had my mental faculties in check, I got my cute fabric from Riley Blake Designs and got to sewing. I followed a lot of the fun cute ideas that Crafting Chick Jamie shared in her post about doll bedding. I'll give a little more step by step in this post. I had so much fun and forgot how much I love sewing.
Ready to start? Here's what you'll need.

Guest Post - DIY Spring Frame Using Spring Subway Art

Hey Poppy Seed fans! I'm Megan from Crafter Club.
I am SO beyond excited to be over here at Poppy Seed projects today! How adorable is their stuff?

I LOVE the wacky frames that are so 'in' right now, don't you? There are so many things that you can do with them, not just use them as a frame. I wanted to switch it up a tad with my frame, a bright idea came to me one day to subway art a frame! That way that I could use it as a frame still, yet it gives me the look of subway art that I LOVE. Perfect, right?! I ordered my frame and vinyl, and it was shipped to me super fast.

Guest Post - Young Women Craft Idea, Etching Glass Tutorial

Hey! This is Markell from A Mouse In My Kitchen. I am super excited for this opportunity I have to guest post for Poppy Seed Projects. I have had an amazing time working with this company and I am a really excited about the tutorial I am going to show you today.

So, today I am going to teach you how to use the new Daughter of God vinyl {available in 12" and 5" squares} from Poppy Seed Project’s store to etch a mirror. I think my sister showed me how to do this a few years ago. We originally used it to etch names onto casserole dishes. I decided to try it on a mirror and ended up loving the way it looked. We did this a little while ago with the young women group in my ward and it was a HUGE hit.

Funny story. My husband is the one who actually did the “craft” part of this project. I had to be out of town when the vinyl got to my house, so he agreed to do it for me. What a good husband, huh? He went a little crazy with the pictures though. It turns out that it is really hard to take a picture of a mirror without getting yourself in it, so he decided to not even try to hide himself. I hope you all enjoy that!

Guest Post - Advent Calendar Tutorial.

Hi my name is Rita and I am so excited to be a guest here at Poppy Seed Projects today. I met Holly at a blogging event that was held at the Poppy Seed Projects Store. She was so nice and so kind and they were so generous to all of us bloggers. It was really a fun morning!

Where I share all kinds of craft projects, recipes, sewing projects and lots of fun whimsical printables.
Today I want to show you a super simple project from Poppy Seed Projects: Their Advent Calendar.

T
This project was just a matter of painting the boards and distressing them a bit, then add the vinyl to the metal front and glue it all together! It does not get much easier than that, but yet, look how darling it is! I just added the star magnet and I was done. And what child (young & old) does not love to play with magnets? This would make a darling gift for someone on your Christmas list. Even YOU!

Guest Post-Pallet Wood Frame Tutorial

Hi there!!  My name is Lacy Horrocks and I am so excited to be a guest on Poppy Seed Projects today!!  I am joining you from Star Valley Wyoming and although the summers are beautiful here, the winters are LONG and COLD!  I choose to fill them with scrapbooking, crafting and laundry...lots of laundry!

I have a new obsession with "upcycling"... finding old things and making them beautiful! So you should not be surprised that I LOVE pallets and the many projects that can be made with them! I had been in love with these frames from The Savy Photographer for a while and when I saw the cute frames that Poppy Seed Projects had, I knew what I was going to do!

Shaped MDF frame Merry Christmas Project

Hi everyone, I'm Crystal! I'm a mom to three cuties, wife to an amazing husband, and blogger at

I'm so happy to be here today to share with you an easy Christmas project. I know, I know we're still away from Chistmas, but with how busy the holiday season gets it's great to have projects planned ahead. :)

Supplies: Eleanor Frame Martha Stewart Acrylic Paint (Jet Stream) Pine Cones Felt rick rack Vinyl

To make my new Christmas frame I began by applying three coats of paint. Once the final coat was dry I used my Silhouette to cut out Merry Christmas using vinyl. For the backing I glued on a piece of glittered cardstock. I glued the rick rack onto each pine cone then tied them together. I hot glued the knot directly onto the cardstock, leaving the pine cones to hang loose.

I

found the adhesive pearl embellishment in the scrapbooking aisle at Hobby Lobby and added pieces of it to both sides of the frame.

And that's it! It's a fairly simple Christmas frame but I love the way it came together. The best part is if I ever get tired of it I can remove the vinyl and change the center to create a new look.

Thank you for having me today. I hope you'll stop by sometime, I love making new friends! To see more of my holiday projects you can subscribe or follow me on:

Thank you Crystal for the cute project!  Simply and timeless, I love it.  What fun holiday projects do you have in store?

Guest Post - Kitchen Art Work

Hello everyone!

I’m Sumo, or Summer if you wanna get formal.

profile

I blog over at Sumo’s Sweet Stuff.

Button1

It’s my little place in the blogging world where you can come to find sewing and crafting inspiration. Sewing is my favorite creative outlet, but I’m not afraid to bust out the Mod Podge and paint when the mood strikes. You might also catch me professing my love of Target (or the popcorn store as we call it), talking about my relationships with Lucy (Cameo) and Veronica (sewing machine), or bragging about my three beautiful girls. I have an extreme fondness for Diet Coke, my minivan, historical fiction, and most sweets.

I am so excited to be sharing my project over here today. I was just thrilled for the opportunity to get creative with some products from Poppy Seed Projects! We just moved into a brand new house about a month ago, so this came along at the perfect time!

My dining room was really lacking, so I decided to make these fun dining room art pieces.
