Monday Madness – Halloween Spiders and Halloween Decorating Ideas

   
Be honest, how many of you still have some Halloween decorating to do?  How many of you haven’t even started.  I think I pulled out three of four things and than got distracted…and to be perfectly honest I still have a spring floral wreath on my door!  Well not matter where you are at in your decorating I promise this weeks deal will just add to the festivities.

I LOVE the wacky frames that are so 'in' right now, don't you? There are so many things that you can do with them, not just use them as a frame. I wanted to switch it up a tad with my frame, a bright idea came to me one day to subway art a frame! That way that I could use it as a frame still, yet it gives me the look of subway art that I LOVE. Perfect, right?! I ordered my frame and vinyl, and it was shipped to me super fast. 

Monday Madness – Chalk Board Robot and Doll House, SUPER CHEAP!

Guest Post - Young Women Craft Idea, Etching Glass Tutorial

Hey! This is Markell from A Mouse In My Kitchen. I am super excited for this opportunity I have to guest post for Poppy Seed Projects. I have had an amazing time working with this company and I am a really excited about the tutorial I am going to show you today.

So, today I am going to teach you how to use the new Daughter of God vinyl {available in 12" and 5" squares} from Poppy Seed Project’s store to etch a mirror. I think my sister showed me how to do this a few years ago. We originally used it to etch names onto casserole dishes. I decided to try it on a mirror and ended up loving the way it looked. We did this a little while ago with the young women group in my ward and it was a HUGE hit.

Funny story. My husband is the one who actually did the “craft” part of this project. I had to be out of town when the vinyl got to my house, so he agreed to do it for me. What a good husband, huh? He went a little crazy with the pictures though. It turns out that it is really hard to take a picture of a mirror without getting yourself in it, so he decided to not even try to hide himself. I hope you all enjoy that!

Shaped MDF frame Merry Christmas Project

I'm so happy to be here today to share with you an easy Christmas project. I know, I know we're still away from Chistmas, but with how busy the holiday season gets it's great to have projects planned ahead. :)



Supplies: Eleanor Frame Martha Stewart Acrylic Paint (Jet Stream) Pine Cones Felt rick rack Vinyl



To make my new Christmas frame I began by applying three coats of paint. Once the final coat was dry I used my Silhouette to cut out Merry Christmas using vinyl. For the backing I glued on a piece of glittered cardstock. I glued the rick rack onto each pine cone then tied them together. I hot glued the knot directly onto the cardstock, leaving the pine cones to hang loose.



I

found the adhesive pearl embellishment in the scrapbooking aisle at Hobby Lobby and added pieces of it to both sides of the frame.



And that's it! It's a fairly simple Christmas frame but I love the way it came together. The best part is if I ever get tired of it I can remove the vinyl and change the center to create a new look.
