15 Holiday/Super Saturday Craft Ideas Using MDF Shaped Frames

I have to admit most of the ideas below are not mine, but that is one of the reasons the time it takes for me to find good bloggers for guest posts is well worth the effort.  I am continually amazed at the incredibly genius ideas bloggers come up with using our stuff!  Below are fifteen of my favorites, every single one of them would make for a fabulous Super Saturday craft project or just an awsome project to help you waste away an afternoon. ENJOY!

15 Super Saturday Holiday Craft Ideas

#15. Photo Frame Book Ends from a Turtle’s Life for Me.
If you know anything about me you know I am a sucker for anything with pictures in them.  Combine that with a cute way to display books and I am totally in.

#14. Bathroom Hooks by Bee in Our Bonnet
This is a fun idea because it could go in so many place besides just a bathroom.  Think laundry room, mud room, entry way.  What a cut idea for kids to hang there coats and back packs on…you could even order custom vinyl and put their names on the frames.

#13. Stamped Cork Board by from the Winthorpe Chronicles.
Any time you can take something and make it your own it’s sure to be a hit with the crowd.  I do think on this one if would be fun to offer different holiday stencils and multiple cork boards.  Than people can paint cork boards for every holiday and switch them out.  If you are looking for some cork boards you may want to check out our Organize It Collection, and of course we can custom cut cork for you.  Plus all of our Antiqued Subway Art Plaques vinyl can be ordered as a stencil

Monday Morning Madness, Neighbor Gifts

Ready or not the Holidays are upon us.  One of the things that makes the time of year so memorable are the traditions that we repeat year after year.  I know many of you may not agree with me, but one of my favorite traditions is the giving of neighbor gifts.  Who’s with me? You might wonder why I am such a big fan of this tradition.  A couple of reason really. I have fond memories of baking Christmas banana bread (banana bread with chocolate chips and Marciano cherries) with my Mom and making candies with my Day for our neighbors.  I also love seeing what people come up with.  I love the cheesy sayings tied to the dollar store presents just as much as I love the plates full of goodies.  But most of all I love the idea behind a small token of thoughtfulness and the “hey we are friends even if we only talk twice a month because we have too many kids and our lives are crazy” that the neighbor gift represents.

The tricky part about the neighbor gift though is coming up with a cute, creative and inexpensive idea that people will enjoy.  Well that is where we can help!

Some of you may have seen Nikkala from The Crafting Chicks’s cute idea using the mini frames.  Well our collection of neighbor gift possibilities doesn't end there.  Here are Ten of our favorite inexpensive and easy to make craft projects that are perfect for neighbor gifts.  (wondering which one’s Kim and I have actually used . . .I starred them)

Guest Post - Neighbor Gift Printable

Hi, I'm Nikkala one of the Crafting Chicks and I'm excited to be guesting on Poppy Seed Projects today! This project takes 2 of my favorite things and combines them into a little gift that would be great to give neighbors or friends for Christmas.

First thing that I love? Poppy Seeds miniature frames! You know how small things are adorable? Well, it's the same with these frames! I think they are so fun painted a bright color and left empty on a wall. In fact (don't tell Kim or Holly) I think the mini's are my absolute favorite of all their frames. I used the Miniature Eleanor Frames, sanded and painted a metallic red. Because the frame is so small I decided to keep it pretty simple and just a solid color.

And the other thing I'm loving right now is chalkboard art! So I created this little bitty sign to go inside the frame. You can download them here. They come 4 to a page and are sized 4" x 3" to fit perfectly.

You could use regular tape to hold it all together, but why?! I used red polka dot washi tape on the back. It adds a fun little surprise!

This is one of my favorite Christmas songs, but being election day and all, I guess it's fitting for today too! Don't forget to vote! :)

Great post, Nikkala! We {heart} the crafting chicks and all their fun ideas, and that is a DARLING little printout.  Only seven weeks until Christmas so I had better get my be-hind into start on some neighbor gifts...thanks for the reminder!
