As you can imagine running a business while raising young children can make like hectic, crazy and yep even exhausting. To help home life run a little smoother I am always on the look out for ways that I can keep things calm and functional, all in a timely manner.
Here’s a little meal tip I actually learned from my Dad.
We all love the Sun. pot roast meal. Growing up my Dad would always select an extra large pot roast. Than after the meal was done and we had all had our fill he would take the left over meat, cut it into bit size pieces and put it in a crock pot, add the left over gravy, potatoes and carrots, throw in a can of corn, a can of green beans, a can of diced tom. and some frozen peas and viola you have the starting of a savory (and healthy) stew for tomorrows dinner!!
To finish of the hearty meal you need to create a broth that covers the ingredients. I use any combinations off beef stock, or a packet of gravy mixed with a cup of water or 1 cup of water mixed with a beef bullion cube, what ever it takes to cover the veggies and beef.
Last but not least add 1 Tbsp. of basil. Turn your crock pot on high and let it cook for 1-2 hours and than stick in the fridge where it will be waiting for you at dinner time the next day! YUM!!

What is the powdery stuff in the picture? Is it the gravy mix? You don't combine the gravy mix w/ the cup of water and then poor it over the veggies?
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious and I've got left over pot roast in the fridge so I'm going to make this for dinner tonight!
