Hello everyone!

I’m Sumo, or Summer if you wanna get formal.

I blog over at Sumo’s Sweet Stuff.

It’s my little place in the blogging world where you can come to find sewing and crafting inspiration. Sewing is my favorite creative outlet, but I’m not afraid to bust out the Mod Podge and paint when the mood strikes. You might also catch me professing my love of Target (or the popcorn store as we call it), talking about my relationships with Lucy (Cameo) and Veronica (sewing machine), or bragging about my three beautiful girls. I have an extreme fondness for Diet Coke, my minivan, historical fiction, and most sweets.

I am so excited to be sharing my project over here today. I was just thrilled for the opportunity to get creative with some products from Poppy Seed Projects! We just moved into a brand new house about a month ago, so this came along at the perfect time!

My dining room was really lacking, so I decided to make these fun dining room art pieces.

Here's what you need to create these:

- Brooklyn trim pieces (3)
- spray paint
- freezer paper
- fabric paint
- iron
- command strips/nails (for hanging pictures)

They fill up the wall perfectly, and I couldn't be happier with them! I started off with three Brooklyn trim pieces and some spray paint.

I took the trim pieces out to my garage and gave them a few good coats of spray paint.

While I let those dry, I got out some fabric that would match the decor of my dining room/kitchen area. This gray and white zebra print is a favorite of mine! I cut three rectangles to 11.5" x 14.5". The opening of the trim is 11"x14", so I made them a bit bigger to give me extra to work with when attaching them to the trim pieces.

I used my CAMEO digital cutter to cut out freezer paper in the shapes of a fork, spoon, and knife. Once they were cut out, I ironed them down to the fabric pieces with the shiny side down.

Next I used some fabric paint to stencil the shapes on to the fabric. Be sure to put some cardboard or something underneath for the bleed through of your paint!

Then I carefully peeled up the freezer paper to reveal my shapes beneath. Allow them to dry completely before heat sealing them with your iron.

I finished off the frames by using a staple gun to secure the pieces of fabric to the frames. Then I used some command strips to hang them up!

What do you think?

I love the fun shape of the frames, and it was fun to use fabric that ties into my decor.

I think they finish off the room perfectly.

Thanks for letting me share over here today! I hope you'll come visit me at Sumo's Sweet Stuff!
